The opening of the Museum of Russian Impressionism
26 May 2016
The idea is to create the Museum which will be interesting for different audiences, simple and fascinating for young people, comfortable and accessible for disabled people and will keep up to date using all the possible multimedia facilities available.
American video artist Jean Christophe Couet presented its own view on the process of making Impressionist paintings. Special for the Museum he developed multimedia installation based on some masterpieces from the Museum’s collection.
Contemporary composer Dmitry Kurlyandsky wrote five pieces inspired by the paintings from the Museum’s collection: “The Window” by Valentin Serov, “Venice” by Boris Kustodiev, “Dinamo Skating Rink” by Pyotr Konchalovsky, ''The Gate of the Rostov Kremlin'' by Konstantin Yuon and "Wet Posters" by Yuri Pimenov.
Now you can listen to these “Musician walks” using the mobile app of the Museum.
