"Shemyakin": sound promenade

As the part of "Mikhail Shemyakin. An entirely different artist" exhibition opening the Museum of Russian impressionism presents its new project, "Shemyakin" sound promenade. For our visitors it will be a brand new way to learn about painter's heritage. It's a new format of guided tours. Based on archival documents, this stereo performance uses first-person narrative to introduce Mikhail Shemyakin and characters of his paintings to listeners. You will meet a dozen of people from the first part of 20th century among which Bolshoi Theater soloist Nadezhda Salina, Chezh violinits Jan Hřímalý's daughter and painter's wife Lyudmila and many other. It's a piece that combines fiction and reality. Everything you need to do is to put on your headphones, press the start button and let the painter take you on a journey through his simple but at the same time fascinating life.
